The Light and the original frequency

There is a Light, a big bundle of beautiful and pure effulgent light that is radiating peace and love. This light is present everywhere and is the basis of the existence of the entire manifested universe. But its frequency is not in the visible range of the spectrum.  It is underneath and overneath it and is not only inter-woven with its fabric but itself is the very fabric of the material universe. The whole world is inside this, pervaded and fully enveloped by this from all sides, even though it is not visible to the human eyes.

The human body-mind has a center that is of the same essence and is operating at the same frequency as that of that effulgent light. This center in the human body-mind is connected with the light through very subtle and invisible connections. This center can tune-in and out of this frequency. This original frequency is of silence and stillness and pure unconditional love. This center can loosely be thought of as the human mind, which gets out of tune because of the noise, which is present all around, in the form of various thoughts, emotions, desires, beliefs, etc. Mind runs helter-skelter behind things of the physical world, gradually losing sight of its core essence and tuning itself out of the original frequency in that process.

In order to tune-in with its original frequency again, the mind needs to tune out of all other frequencies (or noise). When all the noise subsides, mind will automatically be able to rest itself in the original frequency. This may look like some effort. But in reality, the big light is not far away in terms of some physical distance, but it is far out only on the spectrum of frequencies. Thus, the effort is not about covering a great distance in order to physically reach out to something, but to constantly work on the mind to gradually change it so that it resonates at the original frequency. This effort would need the mind to expand in order to tune back in. We will no longer just think about our petty little selves, but we will feel a great surge of love, kindness and compassion inside for all beings. Something inside will start changing. One will become fully alive.

People who have shared their OOB experiences, talk about seeing this light. Many of them recall their passing through a dark tunnel before coming face-to-face with a big light. This tunnel could be like passing through the different frequencies on the spectrum until the frequency of that light is reached. This experience, however, may not be possible with the physical senses while being in the body, probably because the physical body may not be able to handle the massive energy associated with the light.

This big light can be called Hari, Lord, Narayana, the Supreme Being, Paramatman, Param Purusha, Brahman, God or by any other name. As the upanishads say this is ever existing and all-pervading but invisible, ungraspable, unthinkable, unknowable and indestructible. This is a vast expansive light that has center everywhere but circumference nowhere. This is what the Ishopanishad refers to, when it says ishavasyam idam sarvam. This is full, whole and complete in itself (purnam adam). And from this purna has come the entire universe but even after the whole universe coming out of it, it still remains full and complete (purnmev avshisyate). This is infinite and an ordinary mind cannot grasp it. Only an extra-ordinary mind, that has become quiet and grown and expanded beyond its petty little self, can grasp it, as it has tuned itself out of the noise and tuned in the frequency of the light.

In the fifteenth chapter (Purushottam Yoga) of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna talks about the asvattha tree with roots up and the branches and leaves down. This structure is operating both at the micro (human) level as well as macro (universe) level. In the human body, the brain center (roots) is the master controller that controls all body parts (branches and leaves) and their functions. Likewise, at the universe level, the supreme being (roots) is the source of the material world (branches and leaves).

In the subtle body, there are multiple centers, each with its own vibrational frequency. Different centers are active in different individuals depending on many factors. Each of these centers is associated with a level of perception or awareness. As one passes from one center to another, the awareness becomes subtler and subtler, associated with an expansion of consciousness. May be, when one reaches the highest center, self-awareness dissolves completely and one goes beyond identifying with one's own ego (body and personality) and merges with the cosmic consciousness. At the lowest level, one is aware about one's physical body and the surroundings. At the next level, one can also have awareness about one's own self, including thoughts, emotions, feelings, etc. The difference between the two is on the scale of subtlety. The first type is gross, and the second type is subtler. But when one goes beyond it, one can be aware about even more subtler aspects such as the various forces of the nature and may be about non-physical dimensions, previous lives, future, etc.

The Game

Don't play the game for winning or losing. Play the game for the sheer joy of playing. To play the game is itself the reward. When you play the game that you enjoy and when you enjoy the game that you play, you play your best game. Play the game that you enjoy playing. Do the work that you enjoy doing.

Gita

Gita is the song of the Lord. It is Krishna's call to everyone to get back home. It seems that we have wandered far away from our home and like a shepherd guiding his sheep, Krishna is guiding us back to our home. So, it is a journey from forgetfulness to remembrance. Remembering who we are and where did we come from, and where we also need to return. Krishna is saying to all of us - come to me. Maamekam sharanam vraj .  Krishna is everywhere. He also resides in our hearts. We all came from him. We are a small part of Krishna and there is a small spark of his divinity inside all of us. He is asking us to go back to him, the source. He is our home. Going back home is going back to Krishna and that is going inside to the innermost layers of our beings, and connecting with the Krishna that is inside our hearts. And how could we do that? What keeps us away from him and what lies between him and us? Why have we drifted away? We have many desires, and these desires pull us away. Our sens...

Shunya

The ultimate destination of this seemingly enigmatic journey called life is Shunya . A life is a chain of endless doing. This doing never stops. And if we believe in re-birth, then a person is on an endless journey of lives, one after the other, with brief pauses in between, known as death. But as Upanishads tell us, this chain of events can stop. The main import is this that there is a state after reaching which, possibly there is no return, i.e. one is not born again. This state is the state of shunya , which is the final destination of our journey. Shunya is when nothing remains. When we lose everything that we have, we enter that state. We need to get rid of our personalities and our possessions, such as desire, attachments, passion, greed, fear, everything. We need to drop the three qualities of our being, which is sattva, rajasa and tamasa. We can do that only when we realize that we have these possessions. We can have this realization only when we watch ourselves and make an...
